On January 13, China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) issued the Draft Amendment to the Trademark Law of the People’s Republic of China (Draft for Comment) (中华人民共和国商标法修订草案（征求意见稿）). The Draft expands the Trademark Law to 10 chapters and 101 articles.
National patent and trademark pledge reached more than 400 billion yuan from January to November this year, achieving a high growth for three consecutive years, according to the China National Intellectually Property Administration (CNIPA).
Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has invalidated 20 trademarks owned by the fast food brand "Zhen Gongfu". The CNIPA ruled that the disputed trademarks are almost the same as Bruce Lee's portrait and classic action.
By the end of June, China has approved 2,493 geographical indication (GI) products and seen 6,927 GI trademarks registered including collective trademarks and certification trademarks, according to Zhang Zhicheng.
Recently, Shanghai Second Intermediate People's Court held a hearing on the case of Bruce Lee Enterprises v. Zhengongfu over a trademark dispute. Many insiders say that it would be difficult for Bruce Lee Enterprises to invalidate Zhengongfu’s trademark.
