2021 Outstanding International IP Agencies Recommendation for Chinese Enterprises
Globally, the political, economic and legal environment is getting complicated, and Chinese innovative enterprises are facing more difficulties when choosing an overseas intellectual property and legal services. Therefore, Chinese enterprises tend to choose local institutions with stronger localization abilities and place more emphasis on the agencies’ cross-cultural communication ability. To this end, China IP launches the "2021 Outstanding International IP Agencies Recommendation for Chinese Enterprises" selection and listing. The list will be announced at the award ceremony of the 11th China IP International Annual Forum on the evening of January 16, 2021, and will be published through multiple media channels.
Participants: international IP agencies that have Chinese office(s) or have Chinese clients.
Application methods: self-application by agencies; recommendation by enterprises.

Upcoming patent fair to focus on IP role in economic development
China will hold a patent fair to showcase its achievements in the field and build platforms to promote the transfer of intellectual property (IP), the event organizer said on Monday.
The 12th China International Patent Technology and Products Fair will be held from Nov. 11 to 13 in Dalian, a coastal city in the northeastern province of Liaoning. The patent fair this year will highlight the role of IP in leading high-quality economic development. It will feature both online and offline events, including exhibitions, live auctions and investment matching. Nearly 3,000 enterprises will participate. (Source: Xinhua)
Over 100,000 patent, trademark, copyright listed in IP International Exchange Hainan
IP International Exchange of Hainan was established on December 28, 2019, to attract domestic and abroad scientific and innovative enterprises to settle and exchange in Hainan through the location advantage and system innovation of the Hainan free trade port construction. Shanghai IP Court cooperate with WIPO successfully mediated a foreign-related intellectual property dispute case
Recently, Shanghai intellectual property court entrusted WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Shanghai Center and has successfully mediated an invention patent infringement dispute involving foreign affairs. It is the first time that Shanghai IP Court entrust international organization mediate foreign-related intellectual property disputes. The scale of service of Shanghai Center includes conducting arbitration and mediation of foreign-related intellectual property dispute cases.
IP Australia released Study into the experience of Australian firms enforcing their IP rights in Asia
The report seeks to answer how Australian businesses protect their IP rights when exporting into China and ASEAN markets as well as the challenges they face in doing so. This report was conducted by the Export Council of Australia, which concludes that IP protection should have greater prominence in a firm’s business plan, especially when exporting to China and ASEAN. Furthermore, greater information is required by SME’s along the business lifecycle from the pre-IP registration stages and through ex-post, for maintenance and monitoring.
Inspections of online IPR to be strengthened in Shanghai's Pudong New Area
The Pudong New Area in Shanghai will strengthen the inspection of infringement of online intellectual property rights and gather global IP services providers at a new hub port to better protect IPR of both domestic and foreign businesses. The China (Pudong) IP Protection Center is developing a platform to strengthen its capacity of inspecting online IPR infringements and achieving targeted IPR protection. (Source: China Daily)
