The 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Exchange Expo commenced on November 13. As a significant window for intellectual property transactions in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the “2020 Intellectual Property Exchange Expo” will be fully moved online for the first time, start the year of innovation online.
“Considering the current complicated and severe epidemic situation in China and abroad, as well as the highly-internationalizing of the Intellectual Property Exchange Expo, and the frequent and complex travelling of international participants, the 2020 China International Trade Fair will be held online. This is a new attempt under an unusual background. “The relevant person in charge of the organizing committee of the Intellectual Property Exchange Expo introduced that with the help of an online platform, more high-quality resources can be gathered here, forming a rich distribution center for online intellectual property transactions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and making full use of the advantages of the Internet. The international influence of the Bay Area Intellectual Property Exchange Expo will be expanded.
According to reports, this session of the Intellectual Property Exchange Expo will continue to be co-sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office), the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and the Macao SAR Government Economic Bureau. The Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office) and the Guangzhou Development Zone Management Committee will jointly host the event from November 13 to November 19. During the period, the Intellectual Property Trade Expo, the Intellectual Property Bay Area Forum, and the intellectual property special events will be launched.
The 2020 Intellectual Property Exchange Expo innovated the form and shifted online, focus on intellectual property transaction operations, created a platform that integrated intellectual property results display, transaction operations, online seminars, innovative cooperation and other elements, bringing together the entire chain of supply and demand resources of intellectual property. It aims to implement the national strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area intellectual property operation service system, and create an international Intellectual Property Exchange Expo that never ends.
Surrounding the creation, protection, operation, transaction and other elements of intellectual property rights, the 2020 Intellectual Property Exchange Expo will focus on supply and demand docking, and achieve the goal of “precise docking + cooperation promotion” online, and set up six online trading expo areas, including patented technologies, trademark brands, geographical indication products, copyrights and culture, international intellectual property, and intellectual property operation services. It focuses on recruiting market entities with intellectual property cooperation needs, financial institutions with project investment needs, and various professional parks with industrial project introduction needs, incubators and related institutions, as well as other entities interested in innovation cooperation and intellectual property trading operations, and provide online trading and exhibition services. Each exhibition area can realize 24-hour display, online negotiation, online order receiving, live marketing, and simultaneous sharing of online booth exhibits at any time. Exhibitors can also plan and carry out online live broadcast activities as needed. Up to now, the total number of exhibitors on the 2020 Intellectual Property Exchange Expo online platform has exceeded 2,300, and more than 14,000 exhibits have been uploaded. The categories of exhibits include patents, trademarks, copyrights, and geographical indication products.
Encountering the unexpected Covid-19 epidemic, innovative entities in the biomedicine, medical equipment and other industries based on their own professional and technical advantages, took the initiative to act and contributed wisdom to the fight against the epidemic.
It is worth noting that the 2020 Intellectual Property Exchange Expo will set up an annual special exhibition area-a special exhibition area for anti-Covid-19 epidemic for the first time to promote the circulation of the results of related industrial intellectual property.
