As of November 10, 2020, China (Yantai) Intellectual Property Protection Center has authorized 203 invention patents that have entered the fast-track review channel, an increase of 160.3% over the same period last year (78 cases) and the whole year of last year (87 cases) a rise of 133.3%.
In 2020, the center will fully implement process re-standardization, and the efficiency of various services will be greatly improved. The center has developed one comprehensive management standard, 59 business process standards, and 41 job responsibilities standards, totaling 101 items; among them, four business process standards for patent pre-examination and confirmation and eight job responsibilities standards. At the same time, the information management system is enabled, the role configuration of pre-examiners is optimized, and the service cycle is greatly reduced. It is realized that each patent application does not exceed seven natural days from receipt to closing. The average pre-examination cycle for all applications is only 5.8 days. The relevant work experience has gained national knowledge, and the Property Office highly recognizes and promotes it in various centers across the country.
In 2020, the number of patent pre-examination service cases of the center will continue to grow. It has received 1,226 patent applications of various types, 578 qualified pre-examination entered the fast examination channel, and 451 have been authorized. The average authorization period of patent applications entering the fast examination channel is shorter than that of ordinary procedures 3/4 or more. On July 20, 2020, the number of invention patent authorizations exceeded 100, and it took more than three months to exceed 200. High-quality innovation results quickly obtained patent rights, which greatly stimulated industrial innovation vitality, strengthened industrial development momentum, enhanced industrial core competitiveness, and escorted the city’s high-quality economic development.
