On November 19, the Xining Municipal Market Supervision Administration held a ceremony for the issuance of Xining Intellectual Property (patent) funding for Xining’s newly recognized intellectual property (patent) demonstration enterprise, authorized domestic and foreign inventions and utility model patents, and China Patent awards and patent attorneys. It has distributed 2.17 million yuan in grants and carried out training to improve intellectual property capabilities.

It is reported that the Xining Municipal Market Supervision Bureau has funded 1,075 authorized patents, including 178 domestic invention patents, each with funding of 3,000 yuan; five foreign-related invention patents, each with a funding of 30,000 yuan; 892 domestic utility model patents, each with funding 500 yuan. There are nine newly recognized intellectual property (patent) demonstration enterprises in Xining City, each with a subsidy of 100,000 yuan. Funded two patents that won the China Patent Award, each with a grant of 50,000 yuan. It has funded four patent agents, each with a subsidy of 40,000 yuan. The above funding is mainly used to encourage and support enterprises, institutions, and individuals to carry out intellectual property creation, protection, and utilization.

At the same time, Xining City has achieved good results in patent creation, protection, and application, and breakthroughs have been made in the number of patent applications and authorizations. The data shows that as of the end of September 2020, the number of patent applications reached 3,828, accounting for 74.68% of the province’s patent applications, an increase of 45.11% year-on-year; the number of patent authorizations was 2,342, accounting for 69.85% of the province’s patent authorizations, an increase of 53.07% year-on-year. Among them, 209 invention patents were granted, accounting for 88.19% of the province’s invention patents; the number of valid invention patents owned by 10,000 people was 6.28, which was 2.12 times that of the province.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Xining’s patent applications reached 14,806, accounting for 75.13% of the province’s patent applications; 7963 patents were granted, accounting for 72.54% of the province’s patent grants; were cultivated 18 Xining’s intellectual property (patent) demonstration enterprises; six patent attorneys and won six patents of China Patent Excellence Award.
