Recently, the 4th Annual China University Patent Conference opened in Chengdu. The annual meeting attracted more than 300 personnel from universities, service organizations and enterprises across the country.
The theme of this year’s conference is "High-quality Patent Transformation and Application in Universities and the Market-oriented Allocation of Technical Elements". It aims to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of colleges and universities through a series of activities such as holding high-end forums, high-value patents and scientific and technological achievements project display and docking. Colleges’ intellectual property creation, utilization and management capabilities can better serve high-quality economic development.
At the opening ceremony, a list of high-value patent requirements for key industries in Chengdu was released, and six high-value patent cultivation centers in Chengdu, including the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Xihua University, were awarded in 2020. The manual "High-Value Patent Achievements of Universities and High-Value Patent Demand Projects of Enterprises" distributed on the spot included 182 high-value patent achievements of participating universities and institutes and 115 high-value patent requirements of Chengdu enterprises, covering medical health, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, new materials, green food and other key industries, involving high-end fields such as localized substitution, new semiconductor materials, new energy, and new polymer materials.
This year’s annual conference focused more on the transfer and transformation of high-value patent achievements in universities. A series of activities were held, such as the supply-demand matchmaking meeting for high-value patent achievements and the exhibition of high-value patent achievements in universities. For the first time, the online and offline methods were combined. Offline events are broadcast live online through diversified media channels such as videos and graphics. Through the matchmaking meeting and achievement exhibition, this annual meeting has facilitated a total of nearly 400 million yuan of high-value patent achievement intention trading projects. Six high-value patent achievement transaction projects of Sichuan University, Sichuan Agricultural University, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other universities were signed on-site, with a contract amount of 59 million yuan.
