On November 26, the Information Office of the State Council held a press conference, invited Gan Shaoning, deputy director of the National Intellectual Property Office, PRC, to introduce the situation of intellectual property in helping precision poverty alleviation. Hu Kaihong, director of the Information Bureau of the State Information Office, chaired the press conference. Lei Xiaoyun, Director of the Utilization Promotion Division of CNIPA, Zhu Xingguo, Director of the Poverty Alleviation Office of CNIPA, and Zhao Yunhai, deputy secretary of the Sangzhi County Party Committee and County Mayor of Hunan Province, attended the press conference.

The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out that China's decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects has made decisive achievements, and the results of poverty alleviation have attracted worldwide attention. In this battle against poverty, CNIPA thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on poverty alleviation work, earnestly implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and gave full play to the unique advantages of intellectual property rights to help targeted poverty alleviation through patented technology of agriculture, trademark brand rich peasants, and geographical indications to promote agriculture, explore an effective path to integrate intellectual property rights with poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, and common development.

The first is to give full play to information advantages and promote patented technology to strengthen farmers.

The second is to give full play to the advantages of the system and promote the prosperity of farmers with trademarks and brands, and the prosperity of farmers with geographical indications.

The third is to give full play to the advantages of the industry and help designated areas and counties to get rid of poverty.
