The 16th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo and the 21st China Patent Award (Design) Presentation Conference held in Wuxi
On November 14, the 16th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo opened. The 21st China Patent Award (Design) was awarded at the opening ceremony. This is also the first time that the 21st China Patent Award (Design) Ceremony was held at the Wuxi Design Expo. Shen Changyu, director of the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC, Ma Qiulin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Huang Qin, Secretary of Wuxi Municipal Party Committee attended the opening ceremony and presented awards to the winners. Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), addressed the conference via video. Liu Hua, Director of the WIPO China Office, attended the meeting.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Lefu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Government.
In his video speech, Daren Tang stated that the cooperation between WIPO and CNIPA on the China Patent Awards could be traced back to 1989. He hopes that this award can inspire Chinese entrepreneurs and innovators to commercialize their intellectual property rights, and even out of the country. The market also extends to the international market. In the past few decades, China has built an efficient and modern intellectual property ecosystem, which has promoted economic and social development. WIPO is willing to continue to cooperate with China in the field of intellectual property and innovation.

The 18th China Optics Valley Intellectual Property International Forum held in Wuhan
On November 11, the 18th “China Optics Valley” Intellectual Property International Forum with the theme of “Human Health Community Construction and Intellectual Property Development” was grandly held at China Optics Valley Technology Exhibition Center. Fang Jie, Deputy Secretary General of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government attended the event.

Supreme People's Court issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Protection of Copyright and Copyright-related Rights"
On November 16, 2020, the Supreme People's Court issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Protection of Copyright and Copyright-related Rights". The promulgation of the "Opinions" aims to clarify the rules for the application of the law, advocate honest litigation, and curb copyright infringement. The "Opinions" require that by improving the quality and effectiveness of intellectual property trials, we should effectively strengthen copyright protection in the fields of literature, art and science, and give full play to the role of copyright trials in regulating, guiding, promoting and guaranteeing cultural construction, and inspiring the cultural innovation and creativity of the whole nation. Promote the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, prosper and develop cultural undertakings and cultural industries, enhance the country’s cultural soft power and international competitiveness, and serve high-quality economic and social development.
The "Opinions" emphasized that it is necessary to strengthen the protection of creators' rights and interests in accordance with the law, make overall plans and take into account the interests of communicators and the public, nd insist on the core position of innovation in the overall situation of China's modernization drive.
