On December 2, the China International Copyright Collective Management Summit Forum was held in Beijing. This is the first international summit forum dedicated to discussing issues related to collective management of copyright after the publication of the newly revised Copyright Law. It was guided by the National Copyright Administration and hosted by the China Audiovisual Copyright Collective Management Association.
Yu Cike, Director of Copyright Administration, Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said in a written speech that the collective management of copyright should be viewed from the overall perspective of copyright work. Collective management organizations must strictly implement the provisions of laws and regulations, and actively accept the supervision of regulatory agencies; they must adhere to the non-profit nature of copyright collective management organizations, and resolutely prevent commercial institutions from intervening in copyright collective management; they must adapt to the development of new technologies and continuously innovate mechanisms and management; change concepts and optimize services, speed up to making up for shortcomings and strengths; each of the copyright collective management organizations should strengthen cooperation and unity. As the statutory supervisory authority for collective management of copyrights, the National Copyright Administration is speeding up the formulation and revision of supporting laws and regulations such as the Regulations on Collective Management of Copyrights
