On December 9, 2020, the first Plenary Meeting of the First Committee of the Intellectual Property Working Committee of the Internet Society of China was held in Beijing. Representatives of the first batch of more than 50 Committee members from China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China Mobile, Tencent, Huawei, Alibaba, Baidu, Meituan, Ant, Sogou, China Search, etc. attended the Meeting. The Meeting was chaired by Song Maoen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Internet Society of China.

The Meeting reviewed and approved the "Internet Society of China Intellectual Property Working Committee Working Rules" (draft), "Internet Society of China Intellectual Property Working Committee First Committee Leading Body Election Measures" (draft) and other documents, and elected the first director of the Working Committee, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General, Vice Chairman of China Intellectual Property Law Research Association, and former Vice President of the Intellectual Property Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court, Jin Kesheng was elected as the first Chairman of the Working Committee, and Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Center of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Li Wenyu was elected as the first Secretary-General of the Working Committee.

Song Maoen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Internet Society of China, delivered a speech on behalf of the Internet Society of China. He said that the development of the Internet industry comes from the continuous maturity of new technical support, and the continuous production of new product forms, communication methods and business forms, therefore, has spawned a new demand for more detailed and comprehensive intellectual property protection. The Intellectual Property Working Committee of the Internet Society of China will deeply understand the spirit of the relevant policies, speeches and documents of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on implementing and strengthening intellectual property protection, build an integrated multi-party exchange, cooperation, and service platform, and promote the implementation of the national intellectual property strategy and the improvement of protection; to implement the new development concept of Internet intellectual property protection, build a new development pattern of intellectual property in the Internet industry, and promote the high-quality development of Internet intellectual property innovation.
