E-commerce field patent infringement cases in Wuhan increased 10-20% each year

“The number of patent infringement cases handled by Wuhan every year in the field of e-commerce is increasing at a rate of 10-20%.” Recently, the relevant person in charge of the Wuhan Intellectual Property Office stated that this year, Wuhan implemented the Intellectual Property Protection Strengthen Project and increased e-commerce fields patent infringement cases handling intensity. Wuhan has handled 239 patent infringement cases in the field of e-commerce in the past two months since late September.

According to reports, this year, due to Covid-19 epidemic, Wuhan has relied on the China E-commerce Field Patent Enforcement and Protection Coordination (Zhejiang) Center which was established in late September by China National Intellectual Property Administration, deployed work-forces, established an effective docking mechanism, and distributed the source of patent infringement case of Wuhan Area to Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection Center and Wuhan Intellectual Property Fast Protection Center. The staff members professionally compared the alleged infringing products or the accused technical solutions to form a patent infringement inspection technical consultation report, and then return the report to China E-commerce Patent Enforcement and Rights Protection Coordination and Dispatching (Zhejiang) Center. After verification, the center will block or revoke the links of the verified e-commerce platform providers. This action combats patent infringement and counterfeiting in the e-commerce field from the source.
