Hainan Haiyao: 150 million yuan transferred DHODH inhibitor S-416 patent with East China University of Science and Technology
Hainan Haiyao announced on January 6 that the company has recently signed a "Patent Assignment Contract" for DHODH inhibitor S-416 related patents with East China University of Science and Technology. The University owns DHODH inhibitor S-416 relevant patent, the company received the DHODH inhibitor patent for RMB 150 million, and the patent transfer fee used milestone installments. At present, there are few DHODH inhibitors on the market. The development of DHODH inhibitors is in line with the company's R&D strategy and can meet the needs of phased and longterm market drugs. It can also be used as an anti-viral strategic reserve drug and can be declared for other indications in the future.
Tencent sued the merchants for selling Cracked Version of Nintendo Switch
Recently, the People’s Court of Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province and the People’s Court of Zhonglou District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province issued the first batch of Nintendo Switch cracking bans in China, ruled an electronic game store in Guangzhou and an electronic product firm in Changzhou to immediately stop produce and sell pirate Nintendo Switch. It is understood that these two bans are the first batch of domestic lawsuit bans involving the cracking of game machines. On December 10, the domestic licensed version of Nintendo Switch, exclusively distributed by Tencent in mainland China, was officially launched on official channels. Later, through consumer reports, Tencent found that many stores were making and selling pirated versions of Nintendo Switch. By welding chips on the original authentic game machine, the merchant changed the original circuit structure and operating system, so that the game machine can run pirated games, so as to earn the difference of the price. In response to the above situation, Tencent filed the lawsuits against a number of shops in Guangzhou and Changzhou. The Yuexiu District Court held that the sale of modified Nintendo Switch products by a certain electronic game firm in Guangzhou without permission violated the principle of good faith that operators should follow in the their production and business activities, which has disrupted the order of market competition and harmed the applicant’s legal rights.
First in Shenzhen -- Copyright Infringement Case Involve Foreign Film Works First Instance Announced
Recently, a case involving copyright infringement of foreign film works prosecuted by the Nanshan District Procuratorate of Shenzhen was sentenced in the first instance. It was a typical case of using the online video-on-demand APP for Internet piracy and criminal copyright infringement. It is also the first criminal case of copyright infringement involving foreign film works in Shenzhen. It was understood that the defendant’s Shenzhen Cultural Media Co., Ltd. developed a video playback APP. The defendants Zhang and Li are responsible for the company’s daily operation and management. The defendants Liu and Ma are the company’s content production department directors and managed the Movie Library. After the APP was launched, a large number of domestic and foreign films were downloaded and edited by personnel from the organization department of Liu and Ma. They provided the films to users through the APP for viewing without the permission of the copyright owner. VIP users who have paid the fee can watch without advertisement and download unauthorized movies to personal devices without authorization. From May 2018 to January 10, 2020 until it was seized by the Public Security Bureau, the APP made a profit of approximately RMB 1.4 million from unauthorized foreign films.

The Intermediate People’s Court of Zunyi City, Guizhou Province recently opened a Court hearing on a case of counterfeiting registered trademarks. There were thirteen people produced and packaged more than 27,000 bottles of counterfeited Kweichow Moutai cross province. The defendants were sentenced to up to five years and six months imprisonment. On August 8, 2019, there were thirteen defendants including Liu Mougui and Zheng Mouxiang were arrested by the police one after another in Kunming, Yunnan Province. The police seized 4,569 counterfeited Kweichow Moutai liquors (27414 bottles), and the illegal business amount reached more than 41 million yuan.
