As can be seen, the number of international trademark applications designating India has been on the rise in the past five years, reaching 14,778 in 2018-19. Similar to domestic applications in India, the number of grants in 2017-18 and 2018-19 was significantly higher than that in the previous three years, mainly due to the shortened review cycle.
