2. Comparison of domestic and foreign applicants for design applications in India

As can be seen from the above figure, about 60-70% of the applications for Indian design come from India and about 30-40% come from foreign applicants.

3. 2018-19 Ranking of Foreign Origin Applications - Country or Region

In 2018-19, the number of foreign-origin applications ranked by country or region: the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy. Among them, 507 applications from China ranked second.

4. Rankings in Number of design Applications in India 2018-19 - Foreign Applicants

In 2018-19, the number of foreign applicants applying for Indian design applications was ranked by Samsung, Philips, Huawei, Xiaomi, Acikon (medical devices), Apple, Juul (e-cigarettes), Oppo, Honda, SMC. Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo from China made the top 10 list.
