Ministry of Finance and CNIPA offered hundred millions of awards to encourage patent transfer

On March 22, the Ministry of Finance and China National Intellectual Property Administration decided to implement a special plan for patent transfer, using three years to select the best awards to supplement a batch of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities that have achieved remarkable results in promoting the transfer and conversion of patent technology and assisting the innovation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (Collectively referred to as province below).

 

The Ministry of Finance and CNIPA will actively meet the technological needs of SMEs, further smooth the circulation channels of technological elements; as well as promote the implementation of patented technology transformation, awaken the under-implemented "sleeping patents", help SMEs to innovate and develop, and promote the construction of a new development pattern.

 

The work's main objectives include, in three years, the incentive mechanism for patent conversion application will be more effective; the supply-demand connection will be smoother, the conversion implementation will be fully implemented. Moreover, the work system will become complete; the convenience and accessibility of patent technology transfer services will be significantly improved. The channels for universities and colleges' innovation resources to benefit SMEs become smoother. SMEs' innovation capabilities will be enhanced considerably, which strongly supports the innovation and development of intellectual property-intensive industries.
