Recently, China National Intellectual Property Administration investigated the intellectual property work in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Shenzhen and held discussions with relevant parties on strengthening the protection and application of intellectual property rights in the Greater Bay Area.
The reporter learned that in 2020, Shenzhen’s intellectual property work has achieved outstanding results. The number of patents granted and trademark registrations have ranked first in China. The number of high-value invention patents per 10,000 people has reached 54.42. The number of PCT international patent applications has led the country for 17 consecutive years. Among them, Huawei ranked the first in the world with 5,464 PCT applications for four consecutive years, and Shenzhen University ranked the first among universities in the country with 252 PCT applications, and third among universities in the world. In the 21st China Patent Awards, Shenzhen's innovation entities have won 70 awards, three Chinese patent gold awards, accounting for one-tenth of China; two Chinese design gold awards, accounting for one-fifth of the country, and the number of gold awards has been ranked at the forefront of China for many years.
