The average patent authorization period in Shenzhen shrank to 58 days

The rapid patent pre-examination is a patent pre-examination service deployed by the China National Intellectual Property Administration in China (Shenzhen) Intellectual Property Protection Center. It is an important measure and effective way to shorten the patent authorization cycle and promote patent examination quality and efficiency. Recently, the center announced the phased results of the rapid pre-examination of patents. As of March this year, a total of 5,425 pre-examination cases have been received. The authorization rate of pre-examination qualified cases is as high as 92.3%, and the average pre-examination period is compressed to 4.9 days.

 

The shortened patent pre-examination period can improve the efficiency of patent authorization and accelerate the transformation of Shenzhen's technological innovation achievements. "Especially in view of the high patent intensity of Shenzhen's Internet and new energy and other strategic emerging industries, the high demand for patent applications, patent confirmation and rights protection has brought tangible benefits." The relevant person in charge of the center said, For patent cases pre-examined by the center, the average authorization period is shortened to 58 days. Among them, the average authorization time for invention patents has been shortened from the original 22 months to about three months, and utility model patents can be authorized within three days at the fastest, which greatly protects the intellectual property innovation achievements of enterprises.
