A company was claimed to compensate 500,000 yuan since Nezha image copyright infringement

The image of "Nezha" wearing a red vest, wide-leg pants and combing the head of a double ball is widely known and loved by the success of the domestic animated film "Nezha: Birth of the Demon Child". However, since using the image of "Nezha" without authorization, it was suspected of infringement. The reporter learned from the Guangzhou Baiyun Court today that a company was sued to the court for compensation of 500,000 yuan for selling car decorations with the image of "Nezha".

Beijing Enlight Media Company claimed that it is the copyright owner of the artwork "Nezha", one of the three-dimensional animation film characters of "Nezha: Birth of the Demon Child", and enjoys the above artworks right of copyright, including but not limited to distribution rights and information network dissemination rights. Any third person shall not use the relevant artwork without the permission of the plaintiff.

Through verification, it was found that Weizhou Company operated a store on the e-commerce platform and sold infringing products that used the image of the above-mentioned "Nezha" artwork without its authorization. Therefore, Enlight Media filed a lawsuit to the court and demanded that Weizhou Company immediately stop the infringement and compensate economic losses and reasonable expenses of 500,000 yuan.
