CNIPA held the 2021 Open Day and released the 2020 Typical Cases of Administrative Protection of IPR

April 26 this year is the 21st World Intellectual Property Day, and the China National Intellectual Property Administration will hold the 2021 Open Day on that day. This is the 16th consecutive year that CNIPA has held an open day event.

 

According to Shen Changyu, Director of CNIPA, a major feature of this year’s Intellectual Property Office’s Open Day activities is the simultaneous opening of online and offline activities. While holding offline Open Day activities, it continued the online “cloud opening” form last year, allowing more People "wander around" the CNIPA through the Internet. At the same time, for the first time, the main event of the Open Day was placed in the Patent Examination Cooperation Beijing Center by the headquarters of the CNIPA, and branch venues were set up in the Trademark Office, six foreign patent examination cooperation centers and two trademark examination cooperation centers. Ten cities and eleven places are open simultaneously and interact on the same screen. Among the guests attending, not only the innovative subjects and friends from the news media were invited as usual, but also twenty foreign intellectual property commissioners in China and their assistants and many Internet influencers were invited.

 

Shen Changyu said that China's intellectual property business was established and developed along with the great historical process of reform and opening up, and has provided strong support for reform and opening up. In 1980, China joined the World Intellectual Property Organization. More than 40 years have passed. On the basis of drawing on the successful experience of various countries’ intellectual property rights, it has established a comprehensive intellectual property legal system in line with China’s national conditions and added almost all major knowledge. The International Convention on Property Rights has established intellectual property cooperation relations with more than 80 countries and regions and international organizations around the world. Established the "Belt and Road", China-US-Europe, Japan-Korea Fifth Bureau, BRICS Fifth Bureau, China-ASEAN, China-Japan-Korea, China-Mongolia-Russia, China-Africa, China-Westgrad Group, etc. A new pattern of international intellectual property cooperation featuring multilateral, peripheral, small multilateral, and bilateral "four-sided linkage and coordinated advancement" has been established.

 

"Last year, despite the impact of the epidemic and restrictions on international travel, we still carried out more than 90 international exchange activities online, further strengthening intellectual property cooperation with other countries." Shen Changyu said, especially in this process In China, we have always adhered to multilateralism, adhering to consultation, co-construction, and sharing, and promote the construction of open, inclusive, balanced and effective international intellectual property rules, promote win-win cooperation, and seek common development.

 

At the event, the Intellectual Property Office issued the “2020 Typical Cases of Administrative Protection of Intellectual Property Rights” and “Top Ten Cases of Patent Reexamination Invalidation in 2020”.
