The complete list of the Winners of the 22nd WIPO-CNIPA Award for Chinese Outstanding Patented Invention was announced to domestic media to solicit public opinions by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) on May 10, 2021. Given annually by the CNIPA in association with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), the awards are a national top recognition of excellence in the innovations and promotions achieved in China’s IP system. The complete list of the Winners is available here: https://www.cnipa.gov.cn/art/2021/5/10/art_394_159248.html

30 Gold Medals, 60 Silver Medals, and 826 Honorable Mentions were awarded for innovations. 10 Gold Medals, 15 Silver Medals, and 56 Honorable Mentions were awarded for industrial designs. The window of time available for the submission of public opinions was set to be May 10 to 14, 2021. Any questions and suggestions about the awards can be delivered to the administrative office of the Award in written form. 

Domestic institutions of higher learning have been obtaining steadily stronger presence in the field of innovations, in the capacity of standalone inventors or first inventors. 5 Golds, 8 Silvers, and 70 Honorable Mentions were secured under their belts at the 22nd Award.

The Award ceremony will be held in China’s Dalian city.
