Data released by China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate shows strengthened IP protection

According to data (最高检发布1至9月全国检察机关主要办案数据) released by China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) on October 18, 2021,

 

From January to September 2021, procuratorial authorities across the country approved the arrest of 5,993 suspected IPR infringement criminals, up by 23.4% year on year; prosecution of 9,730 persons, up by 16.9% year on year.

 

Procuratorial authorities across the country handled 462 civil cases concerning legally effective decisions and the supervision of settlement agreements on intellectual property rights and competition disputes.

 

The data shows that the protection of IPR has been strengthened after the performance of the procuratorial duties was integrated.
