The China Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) on December 27 issued a notice about the publication of the Annual Report on China's Intellectual Property Development 2020 (《中国知识产权运营年度报告(2020年)》). This is the eighth consecutive year that the CNIPA has released the annual report to track and evaluate the country’s IP scene.
The report includes 10 chapters grouped into three parts IPRs'applications, IPR financing, and a review of IP developments during the period of the 13th 5-Year Plan ending in 2020. According to the report, in 2020, China’s intellectual property went through steady growth. Across the country, the total number of the transactions on patent transfer, licensing, and pledging has reached 405,000, which brings the total number of the transactions on patent transfer, licensing, and pledging to 1.386 million under the 13th 5-Year Plan, 2.5 times that under the 12th 5-Year Plan.
