The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) on January 5 released the 2022 work plan (《知识产权强国建设纲要和“十四五”规划实施年度推进计划》) in line with the Guidelines for Building a Powerful Country with Intellectual Property Rights (2021-2035) (《知识产权强国建设纲要(2021-2035年)》) and the Road Map for the Protection and Application of Intellectual Property Rights under the 14th Five-Year Plan (《“十四五”国家知识产权保护和运用规划》). The Guidelines and Road Map were released in September and October, 2021, respectively.
The CNIPA’s work plan consists of 7 parts including 115 items. The 7 major aspects the CNIPA will address in 2022 are the administration of IPRs regimes including laws, regulations, rules, and policies, the IPRs protection and enforcement by judicial and administrative means, the enabling of market-oriented mechanisms for IPRs, the optimization of public services for IPRs, the social awareness building about IPRs, the engagement in the global governance of IPRs, and the tracking and management of the development of IPRs.
