On March 19, Man Wah Holdings submitted a file to the IP Protection Station of the 34th Shenzhen International Furniture Fair prosecuting Jason Furniture for patent infringement.

Man Wah Holdings claimed that the two products from Jason Furniture, Oscar KG.050 Sofa and Meow ++KG.077 Sofa, infringed the patent numbered ZL201410538706.3 for sharing similar features to Man Wah’s products. The reason why Man Wah Holdings lodged a  complaint was that Jason Furniture exhibited the infringing products on the Furniture Fair  in spite of the fact that Man Wah had already filed a lawsuit.

Jason Furniture published a statement on March 22, promising that it will respect and uphold the stringent IP regulations and  invest more in R&D to enhance competitiveness.

Man Wah Holdings and Jason Furniture are the two major listed companies in  upholstered furniture industry, ranking the first and the second in terms of market share. However, their intense rivalry has triggered IP frictions and even lawsuits for several times.

It is reported that Man Wah Holdings filed a lawsuit against Jason Furniture for patent infringement in January, 2019, claiming that Jason Furniture must stop  manufacturing and selling infringing products, destroy infringing products that have not been sold yet and related publicity materials and make compensation.
