National Intellectual Property System Administrative Conference

The National Intellectual Property System Administrative Conference of 2019 was held on April 3rd in Beijing. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the conference have implemented the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the second and third plenary sessions of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National People’s Conference and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, followed the decisions and arrangements made on the National Intellectual Property Bureau Director Conference, summarized the main achievements and experience, analyzed new tasks and requirements  under new situation, and worked to strengthen capacity building. Gan Shaoning, deputy director of the State Intellectual Property Office, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Gan Shaoning fully affirmed the achievements of the 2018 national IP system administration. He noted that 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC and also the first year after the completion of central and local governmental reform. It is necessary to profoundly understand General Secretary Xi Jinping's new requirements for government affairs, take the lead in implementing the new requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on government affairs and actively adapt to new requirements for government affairs.

Gan Shaoning stressed that it is necessary to firmly establish the "four consciousness", always bear in mind the overall requirements of the "five adherence", resolutely achieve "two maintenance", conscientiously follow the "three services", resolutely rectify formalism and bureaucracy, do the utmost to implement, build a high-quality cadre team, earnestly fulfill the three functions of “participating in government affairs, managing government work, and  integrating services”, support efficient operation and implement the strategies for making China strong by developing Intellectual Property.

 At the conference, the State Intellectual Property Office summarized the 2018 national IP system government work and made specific arrangements for the next step. Relevant persons in charge took turns to make their speeches on the conference. Nearly 100 representatives from relevant departments of the State Intellectual Property Office and local intellectual property offices attended the meeting. Participants conducted a group discussion on government affairs in the next stage.
