Shanghai Fashion Week Approved as a Registered Trademark
It’s reported from the press conference of the 2019 Shanghai fashion week of autumn & winter that the name Shanghai Fashion Week has already been approved as a national registered trademark by the State Administration for Market Regulation. This monumental outcome is not only an acceptance on the worth of the Shanghai fashion week platform, but also a reflection of the government’s attention to the IPR protection and determination of developing business environment by the government.
Lin Haihan, director of Shanghai Trademark Censorship Coordination Center told the journalist that the Shanghai fashion week is always attaching a lot of attentions to the trademark protection, while because the word Shanghai is defined as a geographical name and Fashion is a commonly used name which is hard to approve, the trademark of Shanghai Fashion Week never succeeded in registering before. In his statement, in order to extend the influence of the Shanghai fashion week, the city leaders of Shanghai started negotiating with the State Administration for Market Regulation initiatively. With the support of the State Administration for Market Regulation, after a whole year of preparing, Shanghai Fashion Week has finally been approved as a registered trademark at the middle of March, 2019.
Liu Min, vice director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, pointed that the official publication of the registered trademark means there comes a new development stage of high quality for the Shanghai fashion week. After the completion, the platform of Shanghai fashion week will step into a century of revolution including qualities, motivations and efficiency. It will open its arms wider to connect resources from different areas and integrate forces from all sides, making efforts to establish as a role model in deepening the supply-side structural reform and realizing high-quality development of economics.
