Beijing Yizhuang Will Realized its 5G Universe Coverage in 2019

It was known from the launching ceremony of 5G Yizhuang in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA/Beijing Yizhuang) that the BDA will accomplish the construction of over 200 5G base stations and realize its 5G universe coverage in 2019.
According to the introduction from the relevant official in charge of the BDA, 5G Yizhuang is aimed at Make City More Intelligent, Make Life More Convenient, Make Work More Efficient. In the future, the BDA will focus on interconnection among government, enterprises and institutions, advance in the conversion of scientific achievements and patent technologies, aggregation of relevant talents. These focuses could contribute to the construction of a national scientific innovative center and the program of Three Cities & One District.
Beijing Yizhuang was actively seeking cooperation with college institutions, telecommunication operators and top enterprises to build 5G Yizhuang. The BDA and its state-owned investment and financing platform Yizhuang Holdings have signed strategic cooperation agreements with telecommunication operators such as China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and China Tower, centered on intelligent city construction, IOT construction, development of the four leading industries, and experimental projects for new technologies and applications. The aim is to establish a high-quality 5G environment and to provide technological support for enterprises’ innovations.
At present, there have been 299 tower communication base stations established in Beijing Yizhuang. In the meantime, there have been 2085 intelligent streetlights selected and built to support the 5G driverless cars and to provide 5G service for enterprises and the public. From an industrial point of view, Beijing Enterprise Center for Mobility Intelligent has been conducting 5G driverless car acceleration experiments with the grand support of the BDA.
