Rui Wenbiao, Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office Answered to the Media on the Press Conference Held by the Government

The press conference was held by Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government in the afternoon of May 21, on which the deputy mayor Wu Qing introduced the major development since Shanghai decided to speed up the construction of a globally-known scientific innovation center five years ago. Rui Wenbiao, director of Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Office, Leng Weiqing, director of Shanghai Talents Office, Zhang Quan, director of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Peng Song, deputy executive director of Shanghai Scientific Innovation Office, Qiu Wenjin, deputy inspector of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission and Zhang Ying, chief engineer of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization attended the conference and answered to the media.
Rui Wenbiao answered the questions on the progress on IP development and protection and the measures taken to boost the high-quality IP development during the process of the construction of a scientific innovation center. In Rui’s statement, Shanghai carried out the IP strategy all through the process. In five years, with the joint efforts of relevant departments, the environment of IP development in Shanghai has been constantly optimized, in which the innovative reform in the IP field keeps deepening, the IP protection system keeps being optimized and the comprehensive application in the IP field keeps active, providing support to the innovation of Shanghai.
Rui also expressed that for the next step, Shanghai IP office would concentrate on the new requirements of the construction of a scientific innovation center, to promote high-quality creation, high-standard protection and high-efficiency application of intellectual property. It would make efforts to keep optimizing the system supplies to intellectual property, strengthen the protection system and boost comprehensive application to build a better legal, marketing and cultural environment for intellectual property.
