IP Protection Credit System in Xiongan New Area should be Strengthened

Recently, the Hebei Provincial Market Supervision Bureau issued a number of measures (the measure) to support and promote high-quality development of IP in Xiongan New Area.

The measure announced to consolidate the IP protection credit system in Xiongan New Area.

IP cases related to Xiongan New Area should be handled immediately, effectively and strictly at the complete process of application, filing, invistigation and settlement, and it’s imperative to severely crack down IP violations.

The "Internet plus" IP protection model is active to guide the IP protection departments in Xiongan New Area to meet the requirements of the Notice on Printing and Distributing the Work Plan for Intellectual Property Protection of "Internet plus" from State Intellectual Property Office. The departments should utilize current method of supervision and modern technologies, prevent infringement on trademark, patent and geographical indication products, reinforce both online and offline regulation on IP service centers, timely identify and punish illegal actions and improve the efficiency of IP protection.

Full support should be given to the IP protection center of Xiongan New Area. Ties between Xiongan New Area and SIPO should be established, offering opportunities to key industries. IP protection centers should function as soon as possible so that it can provide for innovators and market entities “one-stop” IP services including immediate authorization, certification, protection and operation guidelines.

Enterprises in Xiongan New Area should apply for trademark via Madrid international trademark registration. Those who receive aforementioned trademark can attain a subsidy of 70% of the registration fee (no more than 200 thousand Yuan).

The measure also support the IP tertiary industry. Xiongan New Area should establish IP service institutions to lead the intermediary service such as representation, consultation, identification and assessment. It’s also necessary to cultivate service institutions that are trustworthy, capable, extensive and spearheading.

IP protection assistance should be fully utilized to provide IP owners and civilians with consultation services and to review the legal protection requirements made by intellectual property right owners.
