The first Macao international book exhibition, with the theme of “feel, taste: Macao” opened on July 4. The book exhibition attracted more than 60 publishers from more than 20 countries and areas.

The reporter at the exhibition saw the more than 3000 meter square book exhibition areas are separated into 4 different themes. They include "Food and Wine Book Tour Exhibition Area", "Chinese Publications Exhibition Area", "International Exhibition Area" and "Reading Experience Area".

Among them, the “Chinese Publications Exhibition areas” has “Guangdong, Macao, and Taiwan area’s joint exhibition” and “Macao exhibition hall”. The first one focuses on the cultural and food kinds of books, and the other one focuses on presenting the Chinese and Portuguese culture, food, history and tourism books published in Macao.

Mu Xinxin, the Director of the Cultural Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, said that the Macao International Book Fair is a newly added important project of the Sino-Portuguese Cultural and Art Festival, which has innovative and pioneering significance. We hope that this book exhibition will promote the deep cooperation between the Portuguese speaking countries, the countries along the ‘belt and road’ and China in copyright trades and publishing, constantly enrich Macao's connotation as the convergence point of the Chinese and Western cultures, and a close connection between mainland and the world.

In his speech, Tan Yue, the chairman of China Publishing Group Corporation, said that the China Publishing Group hopes to seize the historic opportunity of the construction of the Great Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao with the help of Macao's multicultural coexistence and historic geographic advantages, to use books and publishing to tell "Macao Stories" well, and to explore the depth of the publishing field cooperation.

It is reported that the book exhibition will be held for 7 days, during the time, there will be the “24th International Food and Wine Book Award Ceremony", publishing seminars, exchanging seminars, new book publishing conferences and writers' talks. Liu Zhenyun, Cai Lan, Ge Liang and other famous writers will appear.
