Huiding Science and Technology sues Shendun for Infringement: Involving Fingerprints under the Screen, and Claims 5.5 Million Yuan

According to the news released by Huiding Science and Technology, a fingerprint designer in Shenzhen, the Beijing Intellectual Property Court formally filed a lawsuit against Shendun Co., Ltd. for patent infringement.

Huiding Science and Technology sued Shendun for infringement of the important patent of its offscreen optical fingerprint chip technology, appealed to the court to order the defendant to immediately stop infringement, destroy infringed products, and compensate Huiding Science and Technology for the corresponding losses totalling 5.5 million yuan, and bear other legal liabilities for infringement.

Huiding Science and Technology states that its offscreen optical fingerprint technology contains important achievement of all the staff from Huiding Science and Technology. It has been maliciously copied by competitors. It is a disrespect for original enterprises and a destruction of market order. Out of responsibility for employees, customers, consumers and industry development, Huiding Technology will resort to legal weapons and firmly defend its legitimate rights and interests.

It is understood that Huiding Technology is an integrated application solution provider based on chip design and software development. At present, it mainly provides leading semiconductor hardware and software solutions for intelligent terminals, Internet of Things and automotive electronics. Products and solutions have been widely used in Huawei, OPPO, vivo, millet, Yijia, Google, Amazon, Samsung, Nokia, Dell, HP, LG, ASUS and other well-known international and domestic brands, serving hundreds of millions of people worldwide, and is the most widely used biometric solutions provider in the Android camp.

Taiwan Shendun Company specializes in IC design, research and development, testing and sales of capacitive fingerprint identification and sensing chips. It also has research and development team of IC design technology and system design technology, including wafer manufacturing and packaging technology. Shendun fingerprint identification chip has infiltrated into HP, Asus, Lenovo, Acer, Bluesky and other brands in notebooks. Samsung is one of Shendun' s most important customers in smartphones.

Last year, because of supply problems, Huiding Science and Technology had a conflict with OPPO. OPPO announced the blockade of Huiding for five years. Shortly afterwards, Huiding and OPPO reached a settlement and the two sides re-cooperated.
