Intellectual Property Awareness of China's Iron and Steel Enterprises Enhanced

Recently, the China Iron and Steel Enterprise Patent Innovation Index (2019) issued by the Institute of Metallurgical Industry Information Standards and the Intellectual Property Publishing House Co., Ltd. in Beijing pointed out that the awareness of intellectual property protection of Chinese iron and steel enterprises has been increasing, and four iron and steel enterprises have been awarded the most innovative enterprises; 39 iron and steel enterprises have been appraised as enterprises with strong patent innovation ability.

A few days ago, the "China Iron and Steel Enterprise Patent Innovation Index (2019)" published by the Institute of Metallurgical Industry Information Standards and the Intellectual Property Publishing House Co., Ltd. in Beijing pointed out that the awareness of intellectual property protection of Chinese iron and steel enterprises has been increasing, and four iron and steel enterprises have been awarded the most innovative enterprises and 39 iron and steel enterprises have been appraised with strong patent innovation ability.

At the meeting, the relevant person in charge introduced that the report comprehensively analyzed the patent data applied by 151 enterprises such as production enterprises, research institutes and design institutes in the member units of China Iron and Steel Industry Association in the past five years. From the angles of patent creation, patent application and patent protection, the paper analyzed the patent innovation capability of China's iron and steel enterprises. Four iron and steel enterprises, including Baowu Group (Baosteel), Angang Group (Pangang), Shougang Group and Angang Group (Anshan Iron and Steel), were awarded the most patent innovative enterprises, while 39 iron and steel enterprises, such as Baowu Group (Wuhan Iron and Steel Group) and Magang Iron and Steel Co., were awarded the most powerful patent innovative enterprises. The report also suggests that enterprises with weak patent distribution should make up for the shortcomings of patents as soon as possible.

It is reported that this is the second joint publication of relevant research results by the above-mentioned institutions, aiming at promoting the improvement of patent innovation ability of Chinese iron and steel enterprises, and promoting the transformation and upgrading of the iron and steel industry and high-quality development. The meeting also announced the establishment of the Metallurgical Professional Committee of China Intellectual Property Development Union.
