China’s Intellectual Property Operation Service System
Liang Chunhua, deputy director of the IP utilization and promotion department at the National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), said in Beijing a few days ago that after nearly five years, initial headway has been made in the building of the national intellectual property operation service system. Going forward, CNIPA would also formulate and issue support policies to promote the high-quality development of patents and facilitate the effective integration of intellectual property and capital.
"Intellectual property urgently needs to be deeply integrated with industries, economy, science and technology, finance and other fields, so as to realize again the value of intellectual property coming from and going to industries." It was imperative to fully realize the value of intellectual property in the market and build a bridge between innovation achievements and the market, which would enable intellectual property to play a greater supporting and promoting role in economic and industrial upgrading, said Liang at the “meeting on capital empowering the cultivation of high-value patents and the foundation of the professional fund investment committee of China Intellectual Property Development Alliance".
The meeting gathered more than 100 people from CNIPA, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, China Intellectual Property Development Alliance and fund investment institutions, to discuss a new model of integrating intellectual property with capital and to facilitate the cultivation and operation of high-value intellectual property. In roundtable dialogues, representatives from intellectual property operation funds in key industries and investment institutions with rich experience in intellectual property fund management exchanged their ideas on "capital empowering the cultivation of high-value patents", which enriched ways of innovative cooperation for realizing the value of capital and patents.
