On September 7th, the Symposium of Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Copyright Law and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Copyright Society of China was held in Beijing.
On behalf of WIPO and Francis Gurry, Director-General of WIPO, Liu first extended warm congratulations on the 30th Anniversary of the promulgation of the Copyright Law of China and the 30th Anniversary of the founding of the Copyright Society of China.
Liu Hua pointed out that culture is not only the fertile land of material wealth, but also the home of human spiritual world. Cultural industry is an important part of global service trade, and copyright is an important support to promote the development of China's cultural industry.
China's cultural industry has maintained rapid growth in recent years and has become a new driving force for China's economic growth.
Over the past thirty years, on the basis of the Copyright Law, China has established and continuously improved a copyright legal system with Chinese characteristics, and formed a dual track system of judicial and administrative protection. China has made remarkable progress in copyright legislation and enforcement, service system, as well as international exchanges.
In his speech, Liu said the latest Global Innovation Index 2020 released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) showed that China maintained its 14th place in the global Innovation Index in 2020, which establishing itself as an innovation leader. Liu expressed appreciation for China's outstanding performance in the field of innovation and intellectual property.
The meeting was presided over by Yan Xiaohong, deputy director of the Committee of Culture, Culture, History and Study of the CPPCC National Committee and President of The Copyright Association of China.
Director Liu Hua of WIPO China office was invited to attend the symposium and delivered a speech.
Director of the Copyright Administration Department of the CPC Yu Cike pointed out in his speech that the promulgation of "the copyright law is of great importance, and it marks a new era of China's copyright". In the three decades of the promulgation of the copyright law, China copyright system has grown from scratch, and gradually improved, and the copyright business has achieved remarkable tremendous achievements.
