On October 12, the Boao Forum for Asia held a press conference at the first Conference of the International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum in Guangzhou, announcing that the Conference will be held in Macao, China from November 9 to 11, 2020.

Secretary-general Li Baodong said, based on the developmental boom and the new trend in the field of science and technology innovation, the Forum host International Science and Technology Innovation Forum. It not only meets the need to overcome COVID - 19 outbreak, and economic recovery but also comply with the trend of international development. It is a significant part of the construction of ‘Community with a shared future for mankind’, and in line with the long-term development of human vision. The convention will take ‘innovation enable sustainable development’ as the theme and present thoughtful sub-Forum discussion in the perspectives of “Power of innovation”, “Innovation life” and “Innovation cooperation”. The discussion topics will cover artificial intelligence, biological medicine, new materials, new energy, ecological agriculture, a new generation of information technology, and many other fields.

Given the intellectual property system as a fundamental guarantee and the prevailing international rules of innovation, has had an enormous impact on technological innovation tendency, the Conference will establish the particular intellectual property rights sub-Forum named ‘Innovation - and the challenge of international intellectual property system’ among the twelve sub-Forum. The global intellectual property strategic thinking on science and technology enterprises and mechanism construction, scientific and technological achievements of intellectual property rights dispute solution will be shared. The Conference will invite representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organization, the National Intellectual Property Administration, as well as global science and technology innovation enterprises and other science and technology innovation fields of politics and business to participate.
