Recently, director of the China National Intellectual Property Administration Shen Changyu held a video conference with the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Arabia Intellectual Property Administration Abdel-Aziz Swalam. They have reviewed the cooperation during the last year around the topics, including working progress, personnel training cooperation, and the Global Intellectual Property Challenges Forum etc. In the meeting, CNIPA and Saudi Arabia Intellectual Property Administration signed the Patent Prosecution Highway Cooperation Agreement.

Shen Changyu introduced the latest working progress of CNIPA. He said that cooperation between China and Saudi Arabic has a long history. China would like to deepen cooperation with Saudi Arabic. When talking about the Patent Prosecution Highway, Shen said that it will benefit the patent applicants of the two countries to have faster patent examination, and provide effective service with improved quality.

Abdel-Aziz Swalam praised the support of CNIPA to Saudi Arabis in intellectual property protection in the long term. It is hoped that through the signed patent prosecution highway agreement, the cooperation between the two parties can be deepened and receive positive results.
