Tencent Music signed exclusive authorization agreement with Peermusic

Tencent Music and the largest privately-owned music patent enterprise Peermusic collaboratively announced on November 4, 2020, that they had reached an agreement to promote and distribute copyright music of Peermusic in China.

According to the agreement, Tencent music users can approach Peermusic’s copyright music through the Tencent Music streaming media platform and other local digital platforms. These platforms include QQ Music, Kugou Music, Kuwo Music, and WeSing.

Peermusic is one of the largest independent music publishers, and their copyright music includes a significant amount of music; the artists include Jimmie Rodgers, Buddy Holly, Rock Band, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Justin Bieber.

On November 3, Tencent Music has announced that it has renewed a number of years of the authorization and cooperation agreement with the largest independent music digital copyright agent Merlin.

Based on the agreement, Merlin will authorize Tencent Music social App WeSing to provide online karaoke service in China. Through the cooperation, QQ Music, Kugou, and Kuwo Music will be able to reach all of the music in the Merlin music library.
